The Gautrain Women Leading Knowledge (WLK) Breakfast is a thought leadership and knowledge-sharing platform established by the Gautrain Management Agency as part of its Knowledge Management vision to position the organisation as a learning organisation and strengthen partnerships with academia and industry leaders. The platform was created to celebrate the role of women in knowledge preservation, leadership, innovation, and organisational learning.
The event was officially launched in 2023, with the inaugural Women Leading Knowledge Breakfast held on 29 August 2023 through a strategic partnership between the Gautrain Management Agency, Gordon Institute of Business Science, and Wits Business School. The platform was introduced to create a space where women leaders, professionals, academics, entrepreneurs, and emerging talent could connect, exchange knowledge, and inspire future generations of women leaders.
Since its establishment, the event has evolved into an annual flagship knowledge-sharing initiative that promotes leadership, mentorship, collaboration, and continuous learning among women while advancing conversations around societal and workplace challenges. The event has grown significantly from its inaugural gathering of over 70 guests in 2023 to attracting more than 200 participants in later editions, reflecting its increasing impact and reach.
